Power change irks farmers
Even as the world’s most powerful nation was rocked last week by blackouts in the northeastern US, the ESB were getting numerous complaints here of uncertainty of power supply on farms and, in some cases, issues of safety which have arisen for farmers and their families as a result of the ESB’s supply line maintenance.
It is understood that the Health and Safety Authority is carrying out an investigation into one incident involving a power line on the Limerick-Cork border, where serious injury could have resulted.
