CLÁR is a programme designed to tackle the problem of depopulation, decline and lack of services in rural areas.

In the last three years, 42 projects, costing more than €2.7m, have been funded under the scheme.

Roads and bridges in eight counties have been selected by Coillte for improvement works under this year’s initiative, which is jointly funded by the minister’s department and the forestry development authority Coillte.
