Teagasc seminars begin this week

Enniscorthy: The first of 20 Teagasc seminars for tillage farmers, which will take place over the next six weeks, was held in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, earlier this week.

Teagasc Tillage Programme Manager Jim O’Mahony said these seminars were coming at a vital time for all cereal growers. The main issue for discussion will be the revised Common Agricultural Policy and the new Single Farm Payment.

“The seminars will deal with every aspect of decoupling, stacking and set-aside rules under the new regime,” he said, urging all tillage farmers to attend in order to acquaint themselves with the new single payment regulations.
