Marts: An outstanding Limousin baby beef heifer sold for a top price of €3,600 after being judged Supreme Champion at the Annual Fat Stock Show and Sale at Fermoy Mart.

The heifer weighing 695 kgs was exhibited by John McGrath, Shanbally, Clogheen and purchased by Terence Ryan, Tender Meats, Clondalin, County Dublin at a whopping €518/100 kgs (€263/cwt).

The reserve champion of the show was a Belgian Blue baby beef heifer exhibited by Noel Bradfield, Church Quarter, Kilbehenny. The animal weighed 635 kgs and sold for €1,700 to Fitzgerald Bros, Fermoy.
