Teagasc to develop €20m food scheme

TEAGASC, the State’s agri-food development body, has earmarked €20 million for an expansion of its food research programme.

There will be an increased emphasis on functional foods to provide health benefits to consumers.

Money, raised from the disposal of land assets, will be devoted to research in this area.
