An Grianán’s 2005 course programme has it all

THE 2005 course programme of An Grianán, the Centre for Lifelong Learning, has been announced.

An Grianán is a charming manor house situated near the long sandy beaches of the Co Louth coast and the River Boyne estuary.

The building is home to a centre unique in Ireland, which combines a week’s holiday with courses in arts, crafts, leisure, personal development or self-care for individuals or groups of adults at any age and skill level.

The aim is to facilitate change and growth for all, women and men alike, through lifelong learning, empowerment through education, development and a culture of mutual support.

The centre established by the Irish Countrywomen’s Association, celebrated its 50th successful year in June 2004 with a garden party at which the guest of honour was President Mary McAleese.

The programme for 2005 has kept up with the times. While An Grianán is renowned for keeping traditional crafts like Carrickmacross lace-making alive, some of today’s guests prefer to spend their holiday learning yoga or computers.

The facility is available all year round for weekend, weekly and daily breaks.

Book a programmed course or suggest your own mix for a training course, meeting or conference.

Many organisations find that the space and atmosphere of the establishment is also ideal for holding their meetings and conferences, with just the right balance between the professionalism and personal care.

An Grianán will be happy to accommodate requests.

The centre is located five miles off the M1 motorway between Dublin and Belfast on the outskirts of Drogheda. Ph: 041-982 2119/2478. Fax: 041-982 2690, email: admin@an-grianan.ie
