Calling on all farmers to show solidarity and support the rally, IFA deputy president Ruaidhrí Deasy said there has been huge farmer backing for the ongoing cattle price protest outside the Kepak meat plant in Athleague.

Meanwhile, Meat Industry Ireland has urged the Government and the EU Commission to renew efforts to secure greater access for Irish and EU beef to international markets and to address the issue of increased volumes of low-priced South American beef entering the EU market.
