A team of Ireland’s leading shearers will take on a New Zealand team in a test match at the CliK All- Ireland Championships at Buffer’s Alley GAA Club, Monamolin, Co Wexford, tomorrow.

New Zealand will be represented by David Fagan, (former world champion), Dean Bull, (New Zealand champion), with a third shearer to be named. Place contenders for the Irish team include: All-Ireland champion Tom Kennedy, Athenry, Co Galway; David Kingston, Drinagh, Co Cork; George Graham, Clough, Co Wexford; Andrew Corrigan, The Curragh, Co Kildare, and Paul Doyle, Dunlavin, Co Wicklow. They will be competing in the national championships today.

Competitors on each team in the international will shear 15 sheep. Their performance will be judged on the quality and appearance of shorn wool and the speed of shearing.
