LAST week’s lightning kill of 31 cows in a field in Assing, near Herning in Denmark, was the worst ever in the country, and possibly the worst in the world.

The cows had sought cover under a big tree during a storm, when a bolt of lightning hit the tree and killed all the cows instantly.

The Guinness World Records office in London had never registered so many cows killed by one bolt of lightning.
