Co-ops angry at cut in casein aid
Director general John Tyrrell said the timing and scale of this cut is very damaging for the Irish dairy sector. The frequency of cuts in aid or refunds in the dairy sector in 2004 creates difficulties for those in the industry who are entering into sale contracts for dairy products.
“This ... will significantly reduce returns to casein processors,” said Mr Tyrrell, calling on Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh to take action.
