LAST year a semi-derelict farmyard and a two storey farmhouse on a 2½ acre site made €455,000 at Moneyflugh, Inniscarra, about 10 miles from Cork.

There was a chance of achieving planning permission for restoration, and an even slimmer chance of demolition and rebuild, but it made a strong price.

Now a 50 acre farm at Garravagh, in the adjoining townland, is on the market at a guide price in excess of €1.25 million. The land is being sold by Joe McCarthy of Irish and European, and it’s sure to attract the hobby farmer.
