Submitted by Maxol Ltd, it is the only bioethanol project approved for excise relief.

Biogreen Energy Products of New Ross, Co Wexford proposes to integrate renewable energy throughout its process, including purchase of renewable electricity and investigating use of their straw by-product for heating and for drying rapeseed.

Kilkenny Cereals Ltd of Goresbridge intends to produce PPO from locally grown rapeseed oil, and convert 117 vehicles to run on PPO.

The Donegal Farm Relief Services Group of Raphoe has similar aims, in a cross-border project.

In all four projects in this category, it is intended to use the oil seed rape cake by-product as an animal feed.

Conoco Phillips of Whitegate, Midleton, Co Cork, is a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest refiners. It is granted excise relief for testsof a biomass based synthetic diesel, which could be sold through its existing network.
