Farmers reminded over milk quota

Farmers wanting to apply for additional milk quota from the Milk Quota Appeals Tribunal Hardship Scheme have been reminded by ICMSA dairy committee chairman Dominic Cronin they must do so before the closing date of December 3.

The scheme operates each year and farmers get milk quota allocations on hardship grounds. Any farmer who believes they qualify should apply.

Mr Cronin said successful applicants, in addition to receiving a milk quota allocation, would get the decoupled dairy premium associated with that quota.
