Irish bid to beef up exports to Cairo

AN initiative to build further confidence in Irish beef among the Egyptian authorities was disclosed yesterday.

Agriculture and Food Minister Joe Walsh said a team of officials from his department, along with Bord Bia and the Irish Embassy in Egypt, has been in Cairo this week.

The initiative was built around the staging of a seminar in Cairo attended by up to 100 key people in the areas of agriculture, food safety and food importation.
