Agri-science on the up
Welcoming this trend, Agri Aware chairman T J Maher said, “Students opting for agricultural science in second level have clearly demonstrated an interest in agriculture, but there needs to be more emphasis and resources in place to encourage these individuals to consider a career within the industry once they leave second level education.”
He was speaking at an event run by Agri Aware and IFA Skillnet in Abbeyleix, Co Laois for more than 350 second level students from 20 counties.
