€435,000 bid for farm in Coome

The 57-acre holding has good road frontage, and the sale includes farm buildings and a derelict farmhouse. Just 11 miles from Cork city, this is a rapidly expanding area and has recently had controversial rezoning for high-density, residential development.

NEAR Doneraile, in north Cork, auctioneer John Ryan is selling two adjoining parcels of land in the townland of Glenanaar.

The first is 7.5 acres, with full planning for a bungalow, and this lot carries a guide price of €120,000.

Then, there’s 20 acres of land on offer, which is a bit better than forestry land, says Mr Ryan, adding that the owner has grazed horses and saved hay from the fields.

The land carries a guide of €6,000 per acre which compares favourably with other land nearby carrying a €11,000 price tag.
