Reserve payments unpaid, says Macra

ENTITLEMENTS have not yet been issued from the National Reserve under the single farm payment, Macra na Feirme president Colm Markey has claimed.

Urging Farming Minister Mary Coughlan to rectify the matter immediately, he said applicants were being prevented from planning ahead and left in limbo.

Mr Markey said some young farmers had applications in since 2004. It was now over 300 days since the last closing date for applications.
