I AM writing to you in reference to an article I read in your paper: “Americans cannot be allowed think they can just do as they please” (May 7).

IF you were unfortunate enough to be watching a recent Late Late Show you would have witnessed another example of how the presentation of our national opinion is being misdirected by talentless personalities in certain media circles who have little to contribute to the question of where are we going as a society or as a nation.

READING the Irish Examiner article “Levy to take €500 a year from pensions” provides for yet another example of the lies and blatant hypocrisies that our politicians spout to get our votes.

I GREATLY respect Professor Morgan Kelly’s opinion but I do not agree with him on walking away from the EU/ECB/IMF agreement — yet.

EMPLOYING the same kind of clichéd hyperbole as his discredited predecessor, US President Barack Obama claims “the world is a safer place” with the demise of Osama bin Laden.
