Battlefield sites

In response to the efforts of campaigners (Irish Examiner, May 22), the recent assertion by Minister Jimmy Deenihan that it was not clear how the National Memorial site in Moore Street could be developed as a battlefield site is disingenuous.

Sinn Féin shortchanging those who trust them

As the leading party in the no campaign, Sinn Féin has a duty to its followers to act responsibly on their behalf. It has singularly failed to do so.

Obliterating historic site will erase part of our past

Not up to speed

Our Government is blowing its trumpet over next generation broadband (NGB), that is alleged to offer greater speeds.

Cyclists should pay insurance

The argument is getting stronger that those driving push bicycles on our roads should be forced to take out insurance.

Invisible empire

While listening to Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore repeating the need to placate and keep sweet investors, businesspeople, etc above all else as he debates the Fiscal Treaty, I recall Woodrow Wilson’s words; “The government, which was designed for the people, has got into the hands of the bosses and their employers, the special interests.

Threshold’s existence questioned

Why was Threshold featured in the Prime Time programme on the problems a minority of tenants face with an even tinier number of landlords who it is claimed do not live up to their responsibilities?
