Held to account

As one who holds the view that this country is bankrupt because the powerful people in government, financial institutions etc were not adequately held to account by the free press, I am in agreement with Colette Browne when she criticises minister Rabbitte for his ‘attack on political media’ (May 23).

Held to account

Criticising politicians in general, she says the nation was ‘lumbered with such a headline-grabbing array of greedy and grasping incompetents in Leinster House for at least the last 30 years’. My problem is that, if that was the case, why were they allowed to bankrupt the country without the rest of us being told by Colette Browne and her colleagues what was going on?
