Video game developed in Cork sells 1m copies in four days to hit 10m sales worldwide

A computer video game developed in Cork sold more than 1m copies just four days after its release, taking global sales of its
series to 10m.Void Interactive, which is based at the National eSports Centre on the South Mall in the city, released first-person shooter game internationally for Playstation 5 and for XBox on July 15.
The game, which sells for around €50, passed the 1m sales barrier in the first three days after its release.
It is a first-person shooter game set in the fictional dystopian US city of Los Sueños.
had previously been released on Windows for PC two years ago, and sold 9m copies.
The latest success of the console version now pushes the smash hit through the 10m barrier.
Given the initial success enjoyed since its console debut, it is expected sales that for the XBox and PS5 versions will pass the 2m barrier in the coming weeks.
