TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro: The battery king of Wear OS smartwatches

For the past month, I've had the brand-new TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro strapped to my wrist for testing. This slightly redesigned version of the original TicWatch Pro 5 offers Wear OS functionality, incredible battery life, and durability.

The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro maintains a rugged charm while shaving off some thickness, making it less than 12mm thick. It features a sleek, black âobsidianâ finish, which I found quite smart, but Mobvoi just released a slate colourway that looks gorgeous. It looks great on my medium-sized wrist without looking bulky. Crafted from 7000 series aluminium, it feels sturdy yet blends seamlessly with everyday wear.
Now protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass rather than the less durable Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the display is further protected by a slightly raised bezel, ensuring durability against daily wear and tear. Despite my less-than-careful use of the watch, there are no signs of scratches on the glass, which is a massive bonus for those who enjoy rough-and-tumble outdoor pursuits.

The Enduro is also built to withstand extreme conditions, tested to military standards 810H and boasting 5ATM water resistance.
The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro weighs just 75 grams, including the strap (44.7g without), and is surprisingly comfortable. The silicone strap has deep grooves across the inside, and I didnât notice any discomfort on my skin despite wearing it 24/7 for weeks. However, if you donât like the band, you can easily change it to something else because it uses a standard 24mm lug.

With the free Mobvoi Health app, setting up the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro is straightforward. The process, including a mandatory update, took just a few minutes. Once set up and linked to my Google account, I could customise watch faces and configure notifications.

The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro uses the same dual display setup as the standard model. I had the low-power screen set to always on, showing essential information like time, date, and step count. A quick wrist raise or a twist of the crown activates a backlight, making the display readable even in low light or direct sunlight.
The main AMOLED display springs to life for more intensive tasks, offering the full Wear OS experience. You can use the main display as the always-on screen, which will drain the battery faster. For maximum battery performance, you can turn off the always-on display altogether.
Swiping up reveals notifications, which can be responded to directly from the watch. Swiping down brings up a menu of essential system widgets, all accessible via the rotating crown, for a seamless user experience.
My one niggle with the UI is that it only displays items in a list with no option to use tiles. The list works well, but it would be nice to have the choice.
The fitness features have seen significant upgrades. The enhanced TicExercise app now offers a larger UI display, making it easier to track your progress. There are various new professional workouts, but you can limit the list to only the ones you want. You can add a new workout from the logical list of categories such as Gym, Ball Sports, Core Training, Ball Sports, etc. There are over 110 professional workout modes.

The watch consolidates all health tracking into the updated TicHealth app, offering comprehensive heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep patterns, and stress monitoring.
The one-tap measurement feature allows you to check five essential health metrics with a single touch.
While these features are not intended for medical use, they provide valuable insights into your overall health.
The watch supports multiple global navigation systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, ensuring accurate tracking for outdoor activities.

The new snoring detection is available through the Mobvoi Health app. This offers insights into sleep quality and patterns, helping you make informed decisions to improve your rest. However, youâll need a VIP subscription to use it, but the Enduro includes a 12-month free VIP sleep subscription in the Mobvoi Health app.

Running on the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 wearable platform and powered by Wear OS, the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro is super smooth. Navigating menus and apps is swift and responsive.
As youâd expect from a Wear OS-powered watch, it comes with Google Maps for turn-by-turn navigation, Google Wallet for contactless payments, and Google Calendar and Gmail (available to download). Additionally, users can control their phoneâs media playback and easily find their misplaced phone by ringing it from their paired Wear OS watch.
The battery life is where the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro truly shines. With the 628mAh battery, I experienced four to five days of use on a single charge. Much of this is down to the dual-display technology, which conserves power by using the low-power screen for basic tasks.
Charging is quick and efficient, with the magnetic dock providing enough juice for a weekend of use in under 30 minutes.
In Smart mode, the watch can last up to 90 hours; in Essential mode, it can go up to 45 days on a single charge. This extended battery life makes it ideal for long adventures without needing recharging. The ultra-low-power display seamlessly transitions between Smart and Essential modes, providing critical information while conserving battery life.
The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro is a fantastic choice for those seeking a robust, feature-rich smartwatch that doesnât compromise battery life. Itâs rugged enough for outdoor adventures while remaining stylish for everyday wear. If youâre in the market for a Wear OS smartwatch with exceptional battery life, the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro should be on your list.
