Online abuse lasts at least two years for 22% of trolling victims – survey

More than one-fifth of online abuse victims said their ordeals lasted for more than two years, with police routinely telling them to simply block their troll, according to a survey.

Research commissioned by Vera Baird, the Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales, found more than half (51%) of respondents said they had been cyber-bullied, 45% said they had been harassed online, and 36% said they had been trolled.
