Ballincollig knock out league leaders Star 

The tie of the quarter-finals was Ballincollig hosting Belfast Star in MTU. With a combined three losses between them, this was a heavyweight clash with the winners instantly becoming favourites for the Cup. Unfortunately for Star, it took them more than a half of basketball to get going and they ultimately left themselves too big a task, losing 83-79.
