Latest Microsoft Windows version is released

The latest version of Microsoft Windows has arrived - and PC users will recognise some old familiar features.

The old Start menu, which was in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen in Windows 7, is back.

Windows 10 also features a voice control system - and a new browser called "Edge" - which will eventually replace Internet Explorer.

Adrian Weckler, Technology Editor for the Irish Independent, says it's being billed as the last major edition of Windows ever.

Microsoft has said that this is going to be the final Windows version, in the sense that it will not be having a Windows 11 launch event, instead it's just going to apply smaller upgrades on a more continual basis over the next few years," said Mr Weckler.
