SkillSoft and SmartForce complete merger

SkillSoft and SmartForce have announced the closing of the merger between the two companies, the combined entity to be known as SkillSoft.

Shareholders of both companies approved of the merger on Friday 6 September 2002.

SmartForce's American Depositary Receipt [ADR] shares, which were issued to former SkillSoft stockholders in the merger, will continue to trade on the Nasdaq National Market, and the ticker symbol "SKILD" will be used for a limited period before becoming "SKIL", the ticker of SkillSoft.

SmartForce intends to do business under the operating name of SkillSoft with immediate effect.
