Call of Duty to return to its roots

Activision has revealed that 2017's entry in the long running Call of Duty series will take the game 'back to its roots'.

Activision is intending on taking the massive game franchise Call of Duty ‘back to its roots’, according to a new article from IGN.

In a fourth quarter 2016 earnings call for the video game publisher, Activision stated that ‘traditional combat will once again take center stage’ in the upcoming entry in the long running series.

Activision noted that last year’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s ‘space setting didn’t resonate’ with gamers, resulting in lower-than-expected sales.

2017’s Call of Duty is currently in development from Sledgehammer Games.
