European Commission announces end of roaming charges

The European Commission has announced the end of mobile roaming charges within the European Union as of June 15, as revealed in a press release.

Mobile service providers will cap roaming prices at 3.2 cents per minute for calls and 1 cent per SMS, while data prices will be reduced over a period of five years from €7.7 per GB as of 15 June 2017 to €2.5 per GB as of 1 January 2022.
