Star Wars Episode 8 titled The Last Jedi

Lucasfilm yesterday announced that the eight instalment of the Star Wars saga will be titled STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.

Directed by Rian Johnson, the film is expected to pick up immediately after the end of previous entry, The Force Awakens, as Rey presents Luke Skywalker with his long thought lost lightsaber.

THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson, who previously wrote and directed the sci-fi hit Looper. The new film is thought to share a similar tone (i.e. dark) with fan favourite Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back.
