Samsung Galaxy S8 won't be unveiled at MWC 2017

Samsung will not be unveiling the Galaxy S8 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress trade show, according to an interview with Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh from Reuters.

This marks the first time in four years that the company has not unveiled a Galaxy S flagship smartphone at the event, which takes place on Feb 27 to March 2 in Barcelona.

DJ Koh offered no further information as to when the Galaxy S8 will be launching, but the confirmation of the S8’s absence from MWC supports a previous rumour that the device will be launched at a special event in New York on April 15.
