Mark Zuckerberg to testify in VR lawsuit this week

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will testify in a Dallas court this week as part of an on-going lawsuit between the Facebook owned VR company Oculus and American media company ZeniMax.

Mark Zuckerberg to testify in VR lawsuit this week

ZeniMax claims that former employee John Carmack (lead programmer of the original Doom) stole intellectual property when he left the company in 2013, and that this technology was used by Oculus to develop the Oculus Rift VR headset.

As a result, ZeniMax is seeking $2 billion in damages, which is close to the amount Facebook paid for Oculus back in 2014.

Carmack and Oculus deny any wrongdoing and instead claim that the suit is an attempt to profit from Facebook's purchase of Oculus.

Zuckerberg will testify in court tomorrow (Jan 17), with Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey set to testify later in the week.
