Samsung could unveil its foldable phone this year

Samsung could unveil its long-awaited foldable smartphone later this year, according to a report from the Korea Herald. The report states that the company is working on a flexible display handset able to fold open into a 7-inch tablet, and that Samsung expects to ship more than 100,000 units of the device in the third quarter of 2017.

Samsung had originally developed a fold-in smartphone that allows users to tuck the screen inside when not in use, but determined that such a device may prove inconvenient to users and instead decided to switch to a fold-out design.
