BBC have said that they want to film another season of Planet Earth before the legendary David Attenborough turns 100.

Attenborough is currently 90 and flying however the last season of the show took four years to film and followed the first season, which was release a decade before it.

Planet Earth II has been a significant success, despite the plethora of reality TV and avantgarde drama on our screen.

It has united different demographics in a way no other show has and it makes sense for the Beeb to capitalise on the popularity of the show.

Attenborough really is irreplaceable, and it seems the BBC have no plans to carry on the show without him, with producer Mike Gunton saying:

"When he decides he doesn't want to do any more, we will have to rethink how we make these programmes," Gunton continued. "You can't replace him – it's pointless trying."
