Why Westworld Is Not Returning Until 2018

First Game of Thrones pushed back their release date, now Westworld are doing it too. After last night's big finale of season one of Westworld, fans of the show will have to wait over 12 months for the show to return.
Why Westworld Is Not Returning Until 2018

With streaming giants like Netflix banging out programming at a rate of knots it is unusual to see HBO not pushing for a more regular schedule.

But it is for a good reason, HBO had some issues with the production of Westworld to begin with as the show had to halt production halfway through the first season for rewrites on the second half.

Westworld even missed their premiere date three times just to try and get everything right.

It seems executive producer Jonathan Nolan wants to ensure that he gets the scripts right for the next season as it seems it was he who asked for some more time to make sure the story was ready.

This is a good sign as we saw HBO pushed for Nic Pizzollatto to make season two of True Detective as soon as possible to strike while the iron was hot and the second season ended up being pretty underwhelming.

We think it is a smart move from HBO, as Westworld season one was certainly not without flaw.
