That Minecraft movie will star Steve Carell

There's a Minecraft movie in the works, because of reasons.

In this case the reasons are mostly around the massive popularity of the game, despite it having very little actual game and no real story. This is a title so lacking in narrative content that there's already been an entirely story led spin off from Telltale Games.

Anyway the movie is coming from Warner Bros and we don't know much else about the project. Presumably there will be more people in it and the director is It's Always Sunnys' writer/director/star Rob McElhenney.
