The Audi Dublin International Film Festival is set to return in February 2017 and the first film has been announced - it's a corker.

Ben Wheatley brings Free Fire to the Audi Dublin International Film Fest 2017

Ben Wheatley will be bringing Free Fire to Dublin. It's the latest film from the acclaimed fellow behind Kill List, Sightseers, A Field in England and High-Rise - and if you've seen any of those films you're already really excited.

Here's the trailer. With cursing.

The film has an amazing cast including Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, Sharlto Copley and Irish fellas Cillian Mutphy, Jack Reynor and Michael Smiley - who is a touchstone for Wheatley. And the filmmaker is going to be along for the Audi Gala screening at the Savoy, Dublin on the 23rd of February, along with Murphy and Reynor!

Here's some words from Wheatley himself:

"It’s always very exciting to have a film at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival. Showing Free Fire feels particularly satisfying as two of its stars, Jack Reynor and Cillian Murphy, were in the audience for the screening of High-Rise in Dublin last year. Afterwards they took me out and showed me the town, and we gently drank fizzy water and were all done and dusted by 11 at night. Just how I like it. This year I hope to have some more of this moderate, sensible fun."

Join them in Dublin and get ready for DIFF 2017 which runs from the 16th to the 26th of February. More info and tickets here.
