Apple to sell refurb iPhones on their site

Apple has a new deal for customers, well technically an old one as it will now sell refurbished iPhones on its official site.

These handsets are models which have been returned by customers due to a fault or other issue. Apple promises that every device has been fully tested and comes with a brand new battery and a full 1 year warranty - the same as what you get when you're getting a new iPhone.

It's an interesting deal and one that could attract an entirely new audience. The handsets being offered to date include the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus from 2015, popular phones which they obviously have a lot of inventory for.

9to5Mac reports that you could save around $110 off the full retail price of these models, and you're safe in the knowledge of getting an official product from Apple. All refurbs are SIM free and network unlocked.

Considering its essentially a second hand phone the savings aren't particularly great but it's also pretty clear that there's no real way to get a cheap iPhone, at least not fully legit circles.

This offer is only available in America at the moment but that could change in the future.
