New Batman movie shoots in early 2017

There's a new actor playing Batman, the second in the last five years, and he's already made his rather decent debut in Dawn of Justice.

All signs are now pointing to a solo outing for the Dark Knight in the not too distant future, with the film to be written and directed by the main man himself Ben Affleck.

That's pretty much great news as Zack Snyder has been the lord and master of these DC universe movies for a little too long, and Affleck is a talented filmmaker with movies like Argo, The Town and Live by Night under his belt.

There's no confirmed release date for this Batman flick yet, but we do have an idea of when it's going to start shooting thanks to Joe Manganiello. He's going to be playing baddie Deathstroke in the new movie and has dropped a hint on when they're going before cameras. With a Spring 2017 start date it's reasonable to guess that the film should be out before the end of 2018.
