Fantastic Beasts is now a five film saga!

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series isn't going to stop at a mere three entries, with a total of five now planned.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is based on a single slim volume which was originally a made up text book in the world of Harry Potter. Then it became a big screen feature, then a trilogy and now there's a full five film saga in the works!

The news came out last night at a special fan event which was broadcast around the world. Author J.K. Rowling made a surprise appearance alongside stars like Colin Farrell to make the annoucement. She's also writing the films this time around. Head to 50.45 in this to check out the reaction.

It must be nice to be able to show up and get that kind of adulation from millions of people around the world, but Rowling has certainly earned it at this stage.

As for the news, well it's a bit intimidating. The first film has yet to release so we have no idea if we're going to want to spend most of a decade returning to this wizarding world, especially as there's no literary source for it to spring from. Hopefully the stories aren't stretched too thin and Fantastic Beasts is a huge success.
