At Irish cinemas September 30th

Tim Burton hasn't been making as many movies recently but he's back with very fitting subject matter in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, plus there's action packed stuff with Mark Wahlberg in Deepwater Horizon.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

This is a tale of an old house full of children with special abilities which exists outside time, and the modern boy (Asa Butterfield) who finds them. It comes from director Tim Burton and is easily his best film in years, based on the 2011 photo-book by American author Ransom Riggs.

Deepwater Horizon

Mark Wahlberg reteams with Peter Berg (the director of Lone Survivor) for another true story, this time not taking place in a warzone. It's set in 2010 and deals with the events on a massive oil drilling platform which exploded and led to a massive ecological disaster. Also starring Kurt Russell, Gina Rodriguez, John Malkovich and Kate Hudson.

Free State of Jones

Mr 'Alright' himself Matthew McConaughey features in this new period drama as a man living in the mid 1800s who assembled a militia of runaway slaves to fight back against the Confederate forces.

Swiss Army Man

This might be the strangest film you'll see all year. Paul Dano leads as a man who is stranded on a deserted island with no hope of rescue, until Daniel Radcliffe shows up... dead. But just because he's a corpose doesn't mean he can't be a great, and useful, friend.
