Irish returns for Galaxy Note 7's started - here's how to do it
Now it's time for that massive globl process to hit Ireland, so that potentially faulty units can be returned for a shiny new phone.
Firstly, Samsung has confirmed that the new battery cells have been independently tested and are fault free. They're also implementing a software update which will limit the battery charge of the older model to 60 percent. That update is happening in Ireland this week, starting on the 21st of September, 2016.
In addition, new phones will come with a special green battery indicator in the main screen to confirm that users are being given an updated model.
Conor Pierce, Vice President of IT & Mobile Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, commented:
Customers in Ireland can get all the information they need for the exchange programme through this link.
Please do it as soon as possible for your own safety!
