Making a Murderer wins Emmy award

The tale of Steven Avery is never truly told, with a second season of Making a Murderer on the way from Netflix, and award recognition coming too.

Last night, the Netflix series won an award at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys. This event marks he achivements in American televison programming over the previous year, and Making a Murderer walked away with the award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction series.

Making a Murderer also won Outstanding Writing, Directing and Picture Editing. That's great news for everyone involved and a further sign of just how well received the harrowing tale was. Netflix is onto a winner with its documentary content, and you can expect to see a lot more of it in the years to go.

On the night, Netflix also topped the Outstanding Documentary category for What Happened, Miss Simone? Jessica Jones also picked up an award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. Which is nice...

It's no surprise to hear that Game of Thrones was the big winner at the event, taking home 9 wins and awards like costuming, casting and makeup. Grease: Live amd The People v O.J Simpson tied with Making a Murderer with four wins apiece, followed by Cartel Land, American Horror Story and Children's Hospital.

The Primetime Emmys are taking place on the 18th of September, 2016.
