The King is dead, long live the King! For the first time in seven years, Messi will not be the highest rated player in FIFA. This year, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken that prestigious spot, which is sure to be a subject of much debate.

EA released the ratings of the top 50 players in FIFA 17 with Ronaldo (94) taking the top spot and Messi (93) falling to second. The top ten is rounded out by Neymar (92), Luis Suárez (92), Manuel Neuer (92), Gareth Bale (90), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (90), Jérôme Boateng (90), Robert Lewandowski (90), and David De Gea (90).

FIFA 17 cover star Marco Reus sits 25th with a rating of 88 overall.
