VIDEO Watch the huge SpaceX rocket explosion

SpaceX is doing some amazing things, but sometimes those amazing things explode.

Check out this failed launch this morning which caused a huge explosion. Watch from around a minute in and then stick around for the sound to travel to where the camera is placed.

Yikes.

As the statement says no one was hurt which is very good news indeed, and we'll have to wait and see if this has major knock on effects for their ability to launch future missions.

The PR speak is also strong with this one, where there's no mention of 'explosion' or 'huge world ending fireball' it's all about the 'anomaly'

Which is fair enough- these things are basically fireworks with fuel attached to them, sometimes they're going to explode!
