Trailer released for Oscar-tipped Manchester by the Sea

Manchester by the Sea made an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival, and instantly staked a claim for an Oscar. Its first trailer has just been released, so you can see what all the fuss is about.

Casey Affleck stars as a down-on-his-luck handyman who suddenly becomes the guardian of his nephew and has to up-and-move to do so. There are some amusing moments in the trailer for a film that looks like it could pack an emotional punch too.

The trailer also contains plenty of plaudits from those who attended its only public screening to date.

Manchester by the Sea will be released stateside in November and will make its way to these shores in January, possibly shortly before it picks up some Oscar nominations.
