The Prisma app, which lets you apply art filters to pictures, now has an offline mode.

Prior to this update, you needed to be connected to Prisma’s servers to be able to process your filters to give them a unique look. CEO and co-founder Alexey Moiseenkov told TechCrunch that it was using neural networks to apply these filters with these neural networks running on Prisma’s servers.

“Now 16 filters are on device,” Moiseenkov told TechCrunch. He added, “Yes neural networks [are] running locally on your iPhone.”
