Overwatch tackles trolling post-game messages
It’s tough to deal with sore winners; you don’t really have much of a comeback, so it’s pretty grating to get the infamous “gg ez” typed in chat. Blizzard has taken action against this type of post-game behaviour, translating the message into something a bit more amusing for all.
The phrase is being changed into a variety of other phrases, including classics such as “It's past my bedtime. Please don't tell my mommy,” and “I'm trying to be a nicer person. It's hard, but I'm trying, guys.”
The filter only kicks in when the phrase “gg ez” is written, so players will work around it if they really want to by just breaking it into two…or simply typing “ez” instead.
But at least it’s a step towards making online play less irritating, while still giving players the freedom to chat.
