Pokemon Go totally banned in Iran
The Middle-Easten country has become the first in the world to outright ban the use of Pokemon Go by its citizen. The reason given is a pretty nebulous 'security concerns' but they don't need to be any more specific as the ban is now in effect.
Now there's no denying the game has the potential to be a security nightmare, with regular people urged to wander around at all hours of the day and night, potentially trying to access private or even dangerous areas in pursuit of a rare Pokemon or even a gym that you really want to be a part of.
It seems the Iranian government and their High Council of Virtual Spaces have been communicating with developers Niantic over the last few weeks to see if they could reach a compromise. Apparently they haven't.
Regardless, the reports that Iranian nationals are still talking about the game on social media, so the ban hasn't been enforced as yet.
