Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone in September, but may have been hinting at the launch date on its website.
Apple may have been hinting at iPhone's launch date

It's been rumoured that the new iPhone will launch on September 6 or September 7, and there happens to be a promotion running on Apple's site that coincides with this. As part of a back to school promotion, Apple is offering free Beats Wireless headphones when you buy a Mac, iPad or iPhone; this deal runs until September 5.

TechRadar readers believe that's quite the coincidence considering it's giving away the very thing that new iPhone owners will be eager to buy if the rumours about it dropping the headphone jack prove to be accurate.

But it could just be coincidence; Apple has previously run similar promotions, even when it wasn't rumoured to be launching an iPhone without a headphone jack.

Apple will soon reveal when it is to announce the new iPhone, and then we'll be able to put all these rumours to rest.
