iPhone somehow survives month at sea
Stacey Sarre dropped her iPhone while out walking her dog and believed that would be the end of it. A passer-by traced the phone's GPS and saw that it had been washed into the English Channel off Gorey beach in Jersey.
A few weeks later, metal detectorist Mihal Stratulat found the handset buried in the sand. It didn't work initially, but after being left to dry out it flickered to life. He then contacted Sarre and returned the phone in working order.
She says the iPhone is working as well as it ever did and all her contacts, music, videos, and pictures were present and correct.
This isn't the first time her phone has taken a dunk. "The phone had been down a toilet in a Crete airport before too – it’s absolutely crazy,” she said.
